A popular book or series you didn’t like.
I have tried many times to read Hitchhikers. I just can’t seem to. I have even tried to watch the movie, and Alan Rickman was my one of my favourite actors. I’m not sure what it is, but I’m just not into it. I’m going to give it one last try!
A book or series everyone hates but you love.
I have to say, I had a hate/love relationship with Twilight. I really enjoyed the mythology and the world building on the vampires. It really was a fresh new take. I know, everybody hates ‘sparkling vampires’, but I find it interesting! I loved it. I truly did. I do have to say the fourth book — I knew what she was getting at. Meyer should have flushed out the pregnancy and the birthing a lot more. It was so neat, but extremely badly written. The idea was brilliant but the execution was poor.
I also love K Stew. I think she’s superb! I find her down to earth, and brilliant, and she’s extremely pretty and talented. The reason why everybody hates her was her portrayal of Bella was exactly spot on. A wet, soggy cardboard box has more personality than Bella Swan.
An OTP you don’t like.
Havamal/Ersel. Mind you, I had so many problems with this book. It had so much potential but it failed spectacularly, for me.
A popular genre you never reach for.
Romance. I can’t stand romance novels. I’ve read a few, and most of them are just over the top.
A beloved character you do not like.
Rubeus Hagrid from Harry Potter. He’s a bumbling idiotic fool, who really needs to learn to have friends his own age, and how to keep his mouth shut. He keeps putting kids in danger with the lessons he thinks are educational. I really don’t like him and was sorely disappointed when he didn’t die during the flight of the eight Potters from Number 4 Privet Drive., thank you very much!
A popular author you can’t seem to get into.
John Green. I’ve read Fault In Our Stars, and watched the movie. The movie was better. I liked the two actors who portrayed the characters. (I ended up watching Divergent first, so it was REALLY weird seeing them in a lover-relationship.)
A popular trope you’re tired of seeing.
The over-done cliche three-way love triangle. Bonus points if it involves a best friend.
A popular series you have no interest in reading.
Anything by her. I don’t like the fact that she rips off others, refuses to acknowledge it, and continues to profit from it. I didn’t like her as a fanfic author, back in the day. She treats people like crap. I know first hand.
A movie or TV series you like better than the book.
